Summary

Amends the

Crimes Act 1914
to ensure that information contained on a national, State or Territory DNA database is able to be accessed and disclosed for the purposes of identifying an unidentified person who died as a result of the bombing in Bali on 12 October 2002 or for the purpose of conducting a criminal investigation in relation to that incident. Also provides for information to be available in relation to other deaths of Australian citizens overseas, where a disallowable ministerial determination to that effect is made.
